【Title】Layer and zone-specific study of corneal optical density in dry eye disease: links to tear film metrics
【Journal】Int J Ophthalmol
【Authors】Arghavan Baniasadi; Mehdi Khabazkhoob; Abdollah Farzaneh; et al.
【Summary】This cross-sectional study compared corneal optical density (COD) between 30 young patients with dry eye and 60 age-matched healthy controls aged 18–35 years. Dry eye patients had significantly worse OSDI scores, shorter tear break-up time (TBUT), and lower Schirmer scores. Pentacam densitometry revealed significantly higher COD in the anterior and central corneal layers within the 6–10 mm midperipheral zone. COD in the anterior and middle layers of this zone was positively associated with OSDI scores. These findings suggest that corneal densitometry may provide an objective supplementary measure of dry eye severity, although further validation is needed.
【Title】Chinese expert consensus on the management of corneal and ocular surface adverse events related to antibody-drug conjugates (2026)
【Journal】Zhonghua Yan Ke Za Zhi
【Authors】Dry Eye Research Group of Ophthalmology Branch of Chinese National Health Association; Dry Eye Rehabilitation Specialty of Vision Rehabilitation Committee of Chinese Rehabilitation Medicine Association
【Summary】This expert consensus addresses corneal and ocular surface adverse events associated with antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), a class of targeted anticancer therapies whose ocular toxicities may affect patients’ quality of life and treatment adherence. Developed by Chinese professional groups in collaboration with experts from relevant fields, the recommendations integrate international evidence with Chinese clinical practice using standardized consensus methods. The consensus addresses eight clinical questions and provides evidence-based guidance on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of ADC-related ocular adverse events. Its goal is to support the benefits of ADC treatment while protecting patients’ visual health and quality of life.
